Lisbon Overview

Whether arriving by plane, car, train or boat you'll find Lisbon is an easy acessible city.


By plane

Lisbon International Airport is only 7 kms from the city center and really close to the triathlon venue. Flights arrive and depart flights daily to the major cities in Europe and the Rest of the World. The Portuguese airline, TAP-Air Portugal, Portugalia Airlines as well as the most prestigious international airlines, fly to Lisbon.

By car

Geting to Lisbon by car can be a rewarding experience with beatiful countryside along the way. The city has excelent road access, from North, South and East (in the west you have the Atlantic ocean). The A1 motorway, the Vasco da Gama and25 de Abril bridges along with the CREL are most used routes to get to Lisbon.

By Train

National and international trains arrive daily at Lisbon's Santa Apolonia and Gare do Oriente rail terminals. The later is dead on the Parque da Nações center, the thriathlon venue, and  300m away from the Host Hotel (so you'll just have to walk there). Both Rail station have have direct bus or subway to downtown Lisbon.

By Boat

The Port of Lisbon is one of the busiests in the European Atlantic Coast. It is equipped with three distinct piers for large cruise ships: Alcântara, Rocha Conde Obidos and Santa Apolonia. If you're more of the sailing type or coming in your own motorboat there are several marinas for pleasure boats in the docks of Belém, Santo Amaro, Bom Sucesso, Alcantara, Olivais, and Parque das Nações (where the triathlon takes place)
