The Lisboa International Triathlon is an open race event with a mass start that will be refereed by the Portuguese Federation of Triathlon and will follow the competition regulation for long distance races set by the Portuguese Triathlon Federation. In the above-mentioned regulation are developed all the technical general aspects about the race. Nevertheless, here below are detailed those points that, for their special importance or for the race circumstances, have been total or partially modified or complemented with regard to the FTP regulation.

Distances
The three segments in the Lisboa International Triathlon are:
- Swim – 1900m with two-lap course
- Bike – 90Km, four-lap course
- Run – 21.1Km with a four-lap course
One mass start up to 750 athletes, in the case of more than 750 athletes, the start will be in waves divided in equal numbers of athletes per wave.

Participation and Insurances
Participation is open to sportspeople of every nationality. Participants are required to have a valid license for the day of the event issued by there Triathlon Federation. One day licenses are ok as long as it covers the event date. All athletes should have insurance coverage by their local triathlon federation, in addition to your triathlon federation insurance coverage the race organization will provide all athletes with a free extra insurance. Participants take part individually in the race segments under their own responsability, and have a suitable physical condition level and enough technical control to be able to face them and finish each segment within the cut-off times set by the organization.

Cut-off times
START AT 8:00
Swim (1900m): 9:15
Swim + Bike (90Km): 12:30 (must start last lap by 12:30)
Finish: 16:00
Cut-off times will be applied regardless of the start time. After these times have passed, the participant will be out of the competition, and it will be possible to circulate in accordance with the present traffic regulations.
In addition to the participants insurance the organization has an insurance policy of civil responsibility, according to the in force legislation.

The Lisboa International Triathlon will take place on the 30th of April 2011 in the beautiful Parque das Nações area in Lisbon, Portugal.
Swim - Doca dos Olivais
The start will be given at the Doca dos Olivais in Lisbon on the 24th of April, 2010 at 8h00 in the morning.
You will swim in the artificial lake that surrounds the famous Lisbon’s Oceanário, where sharks, manta rays, seals and other marine creatures live peacefully. It’s a very spectator friendly swim venue, your friends and family will be able to walk alongside you across the course, if they wish.
Bike – Oriente e IC2
Into your bike gear and onto the bike. You will be guided away from the Oriente area, a major intersection of Lisbon’s transport system, and you will enter the IC2, a major highway that is totally closed to traffic for you to enjoy, with the beautiful scenery of the Tejo Delta (Lisbon’s emblematic river) as the backdrop. It’s a multi-lap bike course and each lap you will come back to the Parque das Nações. Drafting is not allowed.
Run – Parque das Nações
Back to Parque das Nações for the last time on your bike, you will drop your bike off and take on the challenge of the fast, flat and multi-lap run course alongside the river. Your biggest challenge will be the heat and the desire to get as fast as you can to the finish line, cheered on by your friends and family, passers-by and sport loving spectators.
Finishline
Into the finishline, where you will receive your finisher medal. Enjoy the recovery area, where our staff is waiting for you. You will eat, drink, and get a revigorating massage. Enjoy the sun and the beautiful Parque das Nações.

To collect the cash prize all athletes must provide all their personal information after the race to the accounting department, including, showing their ID and TAX ID number and signing the cash release form.
